Mangamuka Hut

Mangamuka Hut is a basic four-bunk backcountry hut in Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park (Bay of Plenty), run by the Department of Conservation. It’s near the Te Tuhi track but is not on a marked track, so you’ll need backcountry navigation skills to reach it.

Inside, the hut includes an open fire, a long-drop toilet, and a meat safe for hunters; it also has mattresses. The hut sleeps 4 and is free to use, with no bookings required (first come, first served). Drinking water is not provided.
