Ngapurua Hut

Ngapurua Hut is a DOC serviced backcountry hut in Whanganui National Park (Manawatū/Whanganui region), used for short stays by independent walkers. It has 10 bunk beds and is first come, first served (no bookings required).

Use includes a serviced hut ticket system: buy a Serviced Hut Ticket (green) or Serviced Youth Hut Tickets (red) for each night and place them in the honesty box at the hut. Fees are $25 per night for adults (18+), $12.50 per night for children/youth (5–17), and free for infants (0–4). A backcountry hut pass can cover unlimited use at most serviced and standard huts for a 12-month period. The hut includes drinking water described as untreated, and has a fireplace, mattresses, and toilets (a pit latrine).
