Pond Cabin
Pond Cabin is a rustic backcountry cabin at Hidden Valley Nature Center near Little Dyer Pond. It’s a wood-stove cabin with sleeping space in a loft and an outdoor firepit near the shore; an outhouse is located close by.
Access is hike-in only, about a 1.4-mile walk from the parking lot. Reservations for overnight hut stays open one month at a time on the first business day of each month at 10:00 AM, with stays starting with Pond Cabin (alongside Hermit Hut).
Inside, the cabin is set up with bunks/loft sleeping and a table, and it’s insulated timber-frame construction. The cabin is off-grid: there’s no running water or electricity, and potable water is available via a public hand pump at a distance from the cabin. Campfires are allowed; bring your own sleeping pads (and other personal gear) since modern amenities aren’t provided.
