Refuge de la Madone de Fenestre
Refuge de la Madone de Fenestre is a Club Alpin Français backcountry hut at 1,903 m in the Parc National du Mercantour, on the GR52A. It has 62 sleeping places and is run from late spring into summer with a defined staffed period (1 June to 30 September).
During the guard period, reservations are handled online only. Outside the guard period, the hut is supported on weekends and during school holidays by phone reservation. The hut offers warm shower access for a fee, and it runs with evening group catering plus a midday card.
Access by road to the hut from Saint Martin Vésubie is closed; the refuge is reached from the valley of the Gordolasque or via Le Boréon. Typical approach departures include Boréon (Pas des Ladres / Pas de la Maïris) and routes such as Chapelle St Grat via Baisse de Prals with a descent by the “5 lacs,” plus other listed departures including Baisse de Férisson and Pas du Mont Colomb.
