Refuge de Nice

Refuge de Nice is a year-round guarded FFCAM backcountry hut at 2,232 m on the commune of Bélvédère in the Parc national du Mercantour. It has 54 sleeping places (including 54 covered by the guarded period), and it sits overlooking Lac de la Fous, with use centered on day-to-day mountain trekking routes in the Mercantour-Argentera area.

During the winter season, the hut is guarded from February to April and requires reservation by email. In summer (beginning of June to end of September), stays are arranged by online reservation only. Dinner (served at 19:00) needs a reservation, while lunch service is possible without a reservation; the hut uses no in-hut card payments. Showers are available but not during winter.
