Refuge du Schneeberg

Refuge du Schneeberg is a small backcountry shelter in the mountains above Wangenbourg-Engenthal, used for overnighting by hikers who want simple shelter infrastructure in a remote setting. Inside, there’s a small fireplace suitable for grilling, plus a table with benches, and a basic sleeping space on the upper level—bring a sleeping bag for night use.

Use is free year-round and it isn’t possible to reserve a place. With limited capacity (up to 8 people), summer nights may require sleeping under the stars when the hut is full.
