Refuge St-Bernard

Refuge St-Bernard is a rustic backcountry hut on the Sentier national de la Mauricie, managed by that organization and reserved for walkers. It’s a two-storey building with an upper dormitory that sleeps up to 12 people.

Use is seasonal: open from May 1 through November 30, and closed December 1 through April 30. The hut is partway equipped (cook/cleaning gear plus a lantern and a wood stove), so you bring your sleeping mat.

Reservations are mandatory, and the booking is handled through the Sentier national de la Mauricie reservation process. Pricing is $35 per night for adults and $30 per night for people under 18; payment is made in advance (check or Interac e-transfer), and after confirmation you receive a code to access the locked hut.
