Refugio 2: Laguna Wuawua Sumaco

Refugio 2: Laguna Wuawua Sumaco is a high-altitude mountain refuge at about 2,500 m in Ecuador’s Napo region. It’s used as a remote staging point for multi-day treks and as a base for expeditions toward Volcán Sumaco, including routes that run up from lower elevations near San Vicente de Huaticocha.
