Refugio El Águila

Refugio El Águila is a backcountry hut used for trekking in the Estancia Cerro Áspero area near Saavedra, in the Abra del Hinojo zone. Access is by rural dirt-and-rock roads, and the approach from Saavedra or Dufaur takes about an hour at low speed, with the final approach requiring slow driving on rough ground.

Use is reservation-based and not open access, with fees that depend on the lodging mode and how you’re visiting (solo vs. a trekking/organized group). It’s a rural, self-sufficient refuge rather than a hotel—plan on bringing your own food/drinks and a sleeping bag.
