Tangihua Lodge

Tangihua Lodge (also known as Tangihua Lions Lodge) is a group camp facility in the Tangihua Ranges, used as an outdoor education centre for schools and other organisations. It’s set up for organisations that want to run multi-day bush-based programmes from within the native forest around Whangārei.

The main lodge has two bunk rooms sleeping a total of 50 people, and there is also a smaller lodge that sleeps 7. With a few tents on the grassed areas, the complex can accommodate up to 80 people, and the dining room area fits 80 people; a commercial-grade kitchen supports feeding larger groups. Activities listed for groups include tramping and camping, plant identification, a nature trail, and trapping and predator control options, making the lodge a common base for organised outdoor days and multi-day programmes.
