The Grid
The Grid is a shaded, north-facing trad crag near Hope, with crack climbing on a multi-pitch wall. The area has 17 pitches across routes ranging from single-pitch climbs to lines of six pitches, and bolted belays set up for rappelling.
Access is from Hunter Creek Road near the Hunter Creek Rest Area, followed by an approach of less than 20 minutes. Bring a 60-metre rope and a full trad rack, and be comfortable managing multi-pitch climbs.
Named lines include Afternoon Delight (5.9), Baffin Island Beauty Queen (5.8), Fantastic Voyage (5.10a, four pitches), Mule Skinner (5.10b/c), Stiffness Protocol (5.11b/c, two pitches), and Fool in the Rain (5.11b/c, four pitches). The Grid was opened to the public in June 2023; most climbs were open at that time, with some projects still closed.
