Whisky Creek Hut

Whisky Creek Hut is a free backcountry bush camp in the Victorian Alps area near the Royston River. It’s a first-come, first-served hut with no bookings available, so show up ready to share if it’s occupied.

Expect basic bush camping and plan to be fully self-sufficient with your own drinking water, food, and camping gear. Access is generally suited to high-clearance 4WD vehicles or dirt bikes, and it’s a good idea to have a backup plan (like a tent or swags) in case the hut is already full.
