Abri de la Méreuille
Abri de la Méreuille is an unmanned, rustic mountain shelter in the Vosges massif, within the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park and inside the Grand Ventron nature reserve area. It sits at about 1,100 m and is set up for overnight stopovers on a first-come basis rather than scheduled lodging.
The shelter is equipped with a chimney and a stove/poêle. It’s part of an arrangement managed by the ONF, and it has been dismantled by the overseeing authority, so it may no longer be maintained or standing.
Use is regulated: it’s not a place to spend the night outside the permitted period, and camping nearby is prohibited. During the main open window (mid-June to end of September), reservation is online only; outside that period, managed access depends on prior request by email.
