Abri du Graber Breitenstein
Abri du Graber Breitenstein is a free, year-round backcountry shelter in the Graber valley area (Doller/Thann–Masevaux region), built as part of the Club Vosgien de Masevaux’s “Chalets de la Doller” series. It’s intended for walkers using marked footpaths rather than for motorized access; the rules also emphasize taking your rubbish back out and using the stove/fireplace carefully and extinguishing it before leaving.
Inside, the shelter has a wood stove and fireplace, plus fixed seating/table. Winter conditions can include heavy snow, and practical notes mention that the stove can smoke, the stove pipe/chimney may need attention, and fuel stocks are often limited—plan to bring what you need. The water guidance tied to the shelter is that the nearest reliable water source is at the Doller near Fennematt, roughly a 45–50 minute round trip from the hut.
