Abri du Mône
Abri du Mône is a very basic, unstaffed mountain shelter at 2374 m in the Vanoise Massif, situated below the Col du Mône on the approach toward the Petit Mont Blanc (2677 m). It’s essentially an open shelter with no door or insulation and no running water on site, so you need full autonomy for sleeping and hot drinks.
Access is by foot on the trail climbing from the Roc de la Pêche or the Pioux toward the Petit Mont Blanc; the abri sits under the Col du Mône before reaching the summit. There’s no booking or fee, and use is emergency-oriented/first-come based, so expect an austere setup rather than a managed refuge.
