Abri du Paradis Hisel

Abri du Paradis Hisel is a small, unguided mountain hut in the Vosges (Grand Est), built in 2007. It’s designed for passing hikers rather than guided stays: there are picnic tables with benches inside, and there’s an open fire hearth/cheminée for cooking or heating when conditions and local practice allow.

The shelter has space for groups to pause, but there are no prepared sleeping places (no mattress/blankets/covers). Use it on a free-to-use, first-come first-served basis with no booking or reservation requirement. If you plan to light a fire, bring what you need—wood availability isn’t guaranteed at the hut; the fireplace is present, but the availability of kindling/wood is intermittent.
