Abri du Pleynon
Abri du Pleynon is an unguided, unstaffed backcountry shelter in the Chartreuse, used for overnight stops along the route between Saint-Hugues and the Col du Coq. It sits at 1,310 m and is open for free, first-come, first-served use (no reservation).
The shelter has space for about 5 people on wooden sleeping platforms/mattresses (capacities range from 4 to 5). There is a fireplace and a wood stove/wood-burning stove; bring your own sleeping bag and plan to use a pad/blankets that you bring, since you shouldn’t rely on bedding. There’s no reliable running water nearby, though a nearby water source/cistern may exist. Leave the stove fully out before leaving.
