Abri forestier du Combalas

Abri forestier du Combalas is a free, open-access backcountry shelter on the approach trail to the Roudons, managed by the ONF. It sits at about 1,400 m and is intended as an emergency/weather-break shelter rather than an overnight stop: there is no sleeping accommodation inside.

Plan for minimal shelter facilities. The main room has an isolation-corrected interior plus a table and a few chairs, and there’s a raised picnic table outside. A nearby stream (Ruisseau des Pales) can provide water, but it can rise quickly and turn torrential after heavy rain. The shelter includes storage spaces for forestry work supplies.

Use is non-bookable and unmanaged (no staff). There is no dedicated overnight setup (no beds, no dorm space), so bring your own sleeping system and stove approach if you expect to spend time there.
