Abri Oberen Grambaechle
Abri Oberen Grambaechle is a backcountry fuste chalet on the Club Vosgien de Masevaux “Chalets de la Doller” network. The hut is free for hikers and is open year-round; it can’t be reserved or rented. It’s built for use as a simple overnight stop or shelter from bad weather, with use rules focused on leaving the place clean and handling the heating equipment carefully.
Access is from the parking near the Schimmel (Maison de Cure) in Masevaux, then follow the direction of the Sudel and the Verger Conservatoire du Grambaechle on the Croix jaune marked path to reach the chalet at the bottom of the orchard, overhanging above the area. The fireplace is a stove/wood stove (no chimney), and the hut has a concrete floor. The area is also for a water source within about 100 m to the south of the shelter in the pasture.
Operational rules: trash and any mess have to be taken out by hikers, and stoves must be used with care and extinguished before leaving.
