Abri Rajon

Abri Rajon is a small, unstaffed mountain bivouac used as emergency shelter on the high Plateau des Lacs Supérieurs near Lac de la Fare in the Grandes Rousses massif above Vaujany. It sits around 2,645 m, and has room for about 3 people—use it for overnight shelter only when you’re passing through.

Use is free and there’s no booking; plan on first-come, first-served use. Historical context is part of the reason it’s notable in the area, but operationally it’s a basic stop with limited capacity—so bring what you need to be self-sufficient.
