Anatoki Forks Hut

Anatoki Forks Hut is a 6-bunk hut in Kahurangi National Park, run by the Department of Conservation in the Golden Bay area. It’s a standard backcountry hut with first-come, first-served use (no booking required).

Use is via a hut ticket system: buy a Standard Hut Ticket for each night and place it in the honesty box at the hut (or use a Backcountry Hut Pass for unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 12-month period). Prices run to 30 June 2026: adults $10 per night, youth (5–17) $5, and children/infants (0–4) free; fees are updated from 1 July 2026. The hut has mattress bedding and a fireplace, and it provides drinking water that’s untreated. There is a toilet, with pit latrine disposal.

Common approach timings from the hut listing: Anatoki Track Road is about 8 hr (17 km), Soper Shelter about 4–5 hr, and the typical hut trip is 3–5 days (described as advanced).
