Auberge du Truc
Auberge du Truc is a backcountry alpine hut on a high plateau at 1,750 m, used as part of the Tour du Mont-Blanc route. It has 28 beds in a dormitory-style layout and serves meals to hikers (dinner in the evening, with lunch available).
The hut sits on the Truc plateau on the Col du Tricot variant of the Tour du Mont-Blanc itinerary. Use from the area centers on hut-to-hut hiking: from the vicinity of Les Houches via Col du Tricot, also via Le Champel and the chalets of Miage, and from the direction of the Contamines (parking area at La Frasse). The evening meal is served at 18:45, breakfast between 06:30 and 07:00, and you should respect those times. Bed linens (“sac à viande”) are required; the hut sells them. The Truc plateau does not allow bivouac.
