Baraque de Boulac

Baraque de Boulac is a free, unmanaged, unguarded day-use and emergency shelter in the Belledonne massif near 1500 m. Use it as a basic stop for bad weather or as a bivouac-style overnight—there’s no booking system and no space can be reserved in advance; you rely on first-come use.

Inside, the hut is simple: it has sleeping space for up to 4 and is equipped with a wood stove (no chimney). Water is available very close by at the Fontaine de Boulac/Boulec (about 100 m). The shelter has no latrines and it’s has limited bedding (no blankets). Bring your own water, cooking gear, and cold-weather sleeping kit.
