Baraque de Recoud

Baraque de Recoud is a very basic, unstaffed forest shelter (cabane non gardée) in the Belledonne area near Isère. It’s intended for emergency bivouac use: you’re not going there to sleep comfortably on mattresses—there are no prepared sleeping places.

The shelter is essentially four walls and a roof, with a small fireplace/cheminée inside. There’s no water right at the hut and no latrines. Use is free and unreserved; bring your own bivouac gear and leave nothing behind.
