Baraque du Col vert

Baraque du Col vert is a small backcountry hut used for short shelter nights in the Vercors, managed by the Office national des forêts (ONF). It’s a non-guarded cabin with very limited sleeping space (about 1 person on a small banquette/bedshelf area).

Access is typically around 1h30 from the parking at the end of the forest road coming from Prélenfrey. The cabin is having no water nearby, and it provides a simple wood stove/poêle for warming; groups should plan to bring their own water and expect a basic, tight interior. Fire use is therefore only for those comfortable managing the stove safely in the hut’s small setup.
