Baraque du Colon

Baraque du Colon is an unmanaged backcountry hut at 1,748 m on the Belledonne massif, on the western slopes of the Grand Colon. Use it as a first-come, first-served stop for overnight parties: the sleeping area is in an attic space and is to fit about 4–6 people.

Inside, there’s a table with benches and a wood-burning stove. A natural water source is located roughly 50 m from the hut; bring your own water treatment if you rely on it for drinking and cooking. As an unstaffed shelter, there’s no booking process—plan on managing your own waste and firewood needs while you’re there.
