Baraque forestière du Veymont

Baraque forestière du Veymont is a small, unguarded forest shelter managed by Office National des Forêts, set around the Gresse-en-Vercors area at roughly 1,540 m. Sleeping is basic: there are benches and a table both inside and outside, and the shelter has an interior sleeping loft with about 10 tightly packed places.

There is no wood stove or fireplace, and no mattresses. Overnight use is free and works on a strict first-come, first-served basis with no reservation; if the shelter is full, you follow the local environmental/park bivouac rules for the Hauts-Plateaux reserve area (use designated spots or the reserve’s bivouac guidelines). Bring what you need for sleeping and warmth, and plan on water being available nearby at the Gresse sources a short uphill walk.
