Bark Bay Hut
Bark Bay Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in Abel Tasman National Park, set on the Abel Tasman Coast Track. It has 34 bunk places and is meant for overnights on the coast-track section of the Motueka area.
Cook and heat planning is constrained: huts on the Abel Tasman Coast Track don’t have gas cooking facilities or lighting, so bring a portable stove with fuel and candles. The hut has drinking water that isn’t treated, and it includes toilets with flush disposal; a fireplace is provided, and smoking isn’t allowed. Great Walk bookings are required, and Great Walk booking tools can’t be used at this hut.
