Birch Glen Shelter

Birch Glen Shelter is a Green Mountain Club backcountry shelter on the Long Trail. It’s a basic 4-wall shelter and is used for through-hiker nights, with shelter space operating on a first-come, first-served basis—no reservations are accepted for this shelter, so carry a tent or tarp as backup if it’s full.

Facilities are primitive: plan to filter or treat water and use the composting privy. Group size limits apply, and camping is only permitted in designated, established sites.
