Bryant Camp
Bryant Camp is a rustic backcountry hut run by the Green Mountain Club in the Mount Mansfield State Forest area of Bolton Valley. The camp was built around 1930 and restored in 2016, and it’s reached from the Bolton Valley Nordic and Sports Center via the Bryant Trail (part of the Catamount Trail). It’s within Bolton Valley’s network of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails.
For overnight stays, Bryant Camp provides an unfurnished sleeping loft for up to eight guests, plus a woodstove with firewood. There’s a composting privy, and the cabin has no electricity or running water; in winter you’ll need to plan for snowmelt for water. There’s also no potable water supply, so bring your own drinking/water solution approach and supplies.
Rates are $97 per night Friday–Sunday and $82 per night Monday–Thursday. It’s available for rentals from August 1 through March 31, with the cabin closed from April 1 through July 31 to protect a wet site. Reservations are required through the Green Mountain Club’s booking system, and check-in is after 1:00 p.m. with check-out by 12:00 p.m. Pets are not allowed while Bolton Resort Nordic trails are open (December through March). Access is a one-mile hike or ski from the Bolton Valley Nordic Center parking lot; in winter, access is by ski or snowshoes only to avoid posting holes on the ski trail.
