Bobs Hut

Bobs Hut is a standard 8-bunk backcountry hut in Nelson Lakes National Park, run by the Department of Conservation. It’s set up for basic hut use with mattresses and a fireplace, plus toilets with pit latrine disposal.

Bookings aren’t required; stays are first come, first served. A Standard Hut Ticket is needed for each night’s stay in the honesty box at the hut—adult (18+) costs $10 per night, youth (5–17) $5 per night, and children/infants (0–4) are free. If you’re carrying a Backcountry Hut Pass, it covers unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for 12 months.
