Butler Lodge
Butler Lodge is a Green Mountain Club backcountry log lodge in the Long Trail area near Underhill, VT, providing overnight shelter with bunks and loft space for up to 14 people. A caretaker is in residence during the main hiking season to look after the site and assist hikers, and overnight use requires a fee collected on arrival.
Expect water at a small brook about 75 ft east of the lodge, though it can be intermittent and unreliable late in summer—confirm on-site. Wood fires are prohibited; cooking is intended on a backpacking stove. Butler Lodge was erected by the LT Patrol in 1933.
