Slayton Pasture Cabin

Slayton Pasture Cabin is a rustic warming hut in the Trapp Family Lodge network, used as a winter destination on the property’s cross-country ski and hiking trail system. The climb to the cabin is about 3 miles from the base lodge, including some uphill terrain on the way to the firelit stop.

It’s a seasonal daytime warming hut that doesn’t require an overnight booking; use is first-come, first-served for day visitors. It’s open daily during the winter season from late December to late March, typically 10:00 AM–3:30 PM, and it serves hot soups, sandwiches, and beverages (cash-only food service).

To reach the area and use the trails, you need to purchase an official trail or property pass at the Outdoor Center. The cabin is reached on foot/snow travel rather than by car, so plan for a winter trek from the lodge and use the resort’s current conditions/menu info before heading out.
