Cabane d'Alans

Cabane d'Alans is a small, unstaffed mountain shelter in the French Pyrenees at about 1,905 m, used for basic overnight stays on a first-come, first-served basis. It sleeps 2 on two single mattresses (with average insulation around the door), and there’s no window.

Inside, a working fireplace/chimney is provided, but there’s no stove; plan on bringing your own firewood and bedding/supplies. A stone enclosure nearby can be used to shelter a windbreak tent if the cabane is taken. For planning, treat water as nearby but not guaranteed: there is water within about 100 m, though conditions can vary.
