Cabane d'Avançon

Cabane d'Avançon is an unstaffed mountain hut in the Hautes-Alpes (Mont Colombis area). It’s used as a free, first-come first-served refuge for hikers passing through, with a wood stove inside and no online reservation system.

Access is via the “Forest de Charpin” area, at a junction on the track between La Croix des Prés (about 1. 5 km) and Maugarot, on the north flank of Mont Colombis. Sleeping provision is limited—there are no mattresses, blankets, or sleeping pads.
