Cabane de Aoueran

Cabane de Aoueran is a backcountry refuge on the commune of Melles, above the forest near the NW pic Crabère. The cabin is reserved for shepherds during summer, but it can be used as a free, open refuge outside the shepherding season.

It’s a simple refuge with a wood stove, wood fuel and water available, and sleeping space for 5 people (5 bunk beds with mattresses). The chimney is in place but may draw poorly, so expect fire-management compromises when you light it.
