Cabane de Banios

Cabane de Banios is a non-staffed mountain shelter in the Hautes-Pyrénées, set on the east ridge of the Soum de Arra above Ste-Marie-de-Campan. It has space for about 6 people and includes a fireplace; there’s a table with seating and a raised wooden sleeping platform with bedding stored inside (a mattress is not guaranteed).

Use is on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance booking for overnight stays. Plan to be self-sufficient: there’s no reliable running water on site, and you should bring what you need for meals and drinking water, plus firewood you plan to use (replace it afterward). In summer it’s a practical stop after hiking through the pastoral areas around the Ordincède massif; one common approach starts from the Pont de la Moulette near Sainte-Marie-de-Campan.
