Cabane de Barrassé
Cabane de Barrassé is a small, open mountain shelter near Bagnères-de-Bigorre at 1,570 m. It’s an unmanaged shelter (no caretaker) and it’s used as a free, first-come option rather than something you can reserve in advance.
Expect minimal shelter capacity and simple provisions: it has a fireplace, plus a table and a few chairs. Plan on bringing your own sleeping setup—no beds or mattresses are provided—and there’s typically no firewood nearby.
Water is not something to count on at the hut; the nearest mapped source is a bit over 2 km away. Approach and use depend on your chosen route, but the hut mainly functions as a useful stop and emergency refuge for traverses through this sector (including the GR 10 network).
