Cabane de Combe Oursière

Cabane de Combe Oursière is an unguarded backcountry shelter in the Écrins area, used for daytime refuge and overnight use when you reach it on foot. It’s a rustic work-cabin style refuge (no staffed operation) with zero prepared overnight places (no mattresses/blankets), so treat it as a carry-in sleep shelter rather than a staffed refuge.

The shelter is reached from Valsenestre via the path leading to the Combe Oursière. Practical details to plan for: there’s no water nearby (with the closest water not within 100 m), and the interior is having only basic sleeping surfaces (two stacked wooden boards) rather than berths; a stove/wood heater is not usable. There is also no latrine.
