Cabane de la Vivolle

Cabane de la Vivolle is a non-guarded mountain shelter in the Écrins National Park core area, used for backcountry overnights when traveling through the Vallon de l’Argentière. Access is unreserved: there’s no booking system for the hut, so plan on first-come, first-served use.

It sits at 2,411 m and is built for small groups (sleeping for about 2–5 people). Inside you’ll find 3 mattresses on the sleeping platform and a wood-burning stove, but there is no lighting or electricity; bring your own heat/safety plan and expect very basic shelter conditions. A water source can be available nearby (including a fountain/nearby stream), yet it may not run when conditions are dry, so treat water as uncertain until you verify on arrival.
