Cabane de Londonnière
Cabane de Londonnière is a small, non-guarded pastoral shelter in the French Alps near La Motte-en-Champsaur, used as a backcountry overnight stop. It’s a historic stone hut set in the Parc national des Écrins (core area), reached on foot from the Vallon du Roy area and intended for first-come, first-served use rather than advance reservation.
Inside, it accommodates about 2–3 people and includes a table/bench setup and a fireplace. Bring your sleeping gear: there are only a few sleeping spots (mattresses/limited bedding) and there’s no electricity and no running water; a natural spring/fontaine is usually nearby. Plan to carry out all your trash.
