Cabane de Peyron Roux

Cabane de Peyron Roux is a non-guarded backcountry hut in the Écrins National Park (core area). It’s an unstaffed refuge-style shelter: use is free, with no reservations or advance bookings. It’s very basic—think table/benches and a sleeping floor area—with no running water or electricity provided.

The hut sits around 1,630 m and is reached from Molines-en-Champsaur via trails that come together at the cabane (from both sides of the torrent). A chimney exists, but it’s generally a cold, do-it-yourself refuge setup—bring everything you need for the night.
