Alpine hutCabane de St Clement is a free, unstaffed mountain hut (cabane non gardée) in the Écrins massif. It sits at 1,886 m and is used for overnight stays by hikers traversing the high country around the Orcíères–Merlette area.
Inside, the hut has a wood stove and provides bedding in the form of covers; there are places for sleeping (3) and there are no toilets. Water is available within 100 m of the hut, and there is a fireplace not provided.
Use is on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation process. Recent listings also note that the hut is key-locked (a key is hung on a hook above the door), so expect to self-manage your stay and bring what you need for cooking and warmth.
