Cabane de St Roch
Cabane de St Roch is a small, rustic backcountry hut at about 1,900 m that’s used as a shepherd’s shelter during the summer grazing season. A portion of the hut on the ground floor is set aside for hikers, but the remaining space is for the shepherd’s use and can limit access when the berger is present.
Sleeping arrangements are basic: 4 people on mattresses with a mezzanine layout (two per level). The hut has a stove/wood-heating setup and functional lighting powered by a solar panel and battery; bring your own supplies for cooking and plan for no food service. Expect no water right at the hut, and note that there are no latrines.
