Cabane de Tarichac
Cabane de Tarichac is a small, unstaffed shepherd’s shelter in the French Pyrenees, at about 1,590 m. It’s a basic stop for backcountry users, designed to be used on a first-come, first-served basis rather than through any advance reservation system.
It sleeps 4 people (with 2 mattress spaces). Inside, there’s a fireplace, and the shelter is an “abri de berger” (shepherd’s shelter) with a fireplace. Since it’s an unmanaged cabane, plan for self-sufficiency and don’t rely on being able to secure a bed on arrival.
From the Col de Peyresourde approach, expect to pass 2–3 barriers before reaching the shelter.
