Cabane des Bertins

Cabane des Bertins is a free, unguarded emergency shelter in the Queyras mountains (2050 m). It’s essentially an old sheepfold used for weather protection; access is walk-in and it does not take reservations.

Expect very basic shelter: there’s a rudimentary table and an old open fireplace, with limited ability to cook. Roughly 10 people can shelter there in a pinch. Water is available within about 100 m, but plan on bringing your own essentials and be ready for a simple, unserviced stop.
