Cabane des Grands Plans

Cabane des Grands Plans is a free, unguarded backcountry hut in the Vallon de Narreyroux, used as a simple stop for hikers in the Écrins area. It stays open all year, and use is on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservation system).

Sleeping is very limited: the hut provides about 2–3 isolated sleeping berths (capacity 3). Inside, you’ll find basic seating and storage; there are raised sleeping places intended for isolation, plus storage boxes/malles for keeping food secure from rodents. The hut has no fireplace and no stove facilities.

Water is available nearby (a stream/captage within a short distance of the buildings). The shelter is also equipped for winter use in the sense that it remains available year-round, but as an unguarded hut you should carry your own sleeping setup (sleeping bag and pad/groundsheet) and food; bring a backup shelter plan if it’s already occupied.
