Cabane des Rognes

Cabane des Rognes is a small, stone emergency shelter on the normal Mont Blanc route, sitting at 2,768 m near the Chemin des Rognes. It’s managed by the Mairie des Houches and is intended for distress/backup use rather than a staffed overnight hut.

The cabane was reopened in November 2021 but has been closed again since August 2024, and overnight stays are not legal there. It has limited sleeping space (two sleeping places) and contains two rooms plus an attic area; facilities include dry toilets and a second structure with an outhouse, but there is no heating provided.
