Cabane des Rougnous

Cabane des Rougnous is an unstaffed mountain shelter in the Écrins area, with free, first-come use rather than reservations. It’s intended for basic overnight stops and emergencies on alpine routes; it has no running water and you should plan to be self-sufficient for food, water, and sleeping gear.

Use is oriented around hikers moving through the area; it often functions as a route checkpoint. The shelter is set in an active pastoral landscape in summer, so expect livestock guardians and give animals and their working area space.
