Cabane d'Estaubé

Cabane d'Estaubé is an unstaffed stone shelter (cabane non gardée) in the Pyrenees, with room for up to 6 people. The interior is split into a communal cooking area with benches and a table, plus a sleeping space with two “bas flancs” and many mattresses; a shepherd’s cabin section is attached and is said to be open when the shepherds are away.

Approach starts from parking at the Barrage des Gloriettes: cross the dam and contour the Lac des Gloriettes, then work up along the Estaubé stream (left bank). At about 1,750 m, a bridge lets you cross the stream; the cabane is just there. Expect no fireplace and no stove—bring what you need for cooking and warm nights.
